I
am a psychotherapist who works from a self-psychological perspective
with adults and adolescents. I am experienced in the treatment of
anxiety, depression, trauma, abuse, addictions, health and
reproductive health concerns, pregnancy options, relationship
difficulties, self-esteem, and identity issues.
I have worked in mental health for 15 years in a variety of
contexts. In addition to private practice and our group practice at
the Centre for Treatment, I have managed a team of mental health
professionals in a community health setting. I have recently begun
teaching and supervising second year practicum students in the
Counselling Program at St. Paul University.
I have a Masters of Education in Counselling and a Bachelor of Arts
with Honours in Psychology from the University of Ottawa. I am a
Certified Counsellor and a member in good standing with the Canadian
Counselling Association. I have been trained in EMDR (Eye Movement
Desensitization and Reprocessing) and am currently undergoing a four
year psychoanalytic training program at The Institute for the
Advancement of Self Psychology.
